Connected commerce
Connected Merchant Terms
Effective August 29, 2026 · version 2026-08-29. These additional terms apply when a Made by Auren customer connects its own Stripe account for purchases or memberships. They supplement the Terms, Stripe’s connected-account agreement, and the project checkout summary.
Merchant of record
The connected business—not Made by Auren—is the seller and merchant of record for every visitor transaction. The merchant is responsible for its identity, products and services, prices, permits, tax registration and collection, receipts, customer service, shipping, delivery, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, recurring disclosures, cancellation, and compliance.
Stripe account and payouts
The merchant must complete Stripe onboarding and keep charges and payouts enabled. Stripe controls verification, reserves, payout timing, restricted businesses, account holds, and payment-method rules. Made by Auren cannot promise account approval or payout timing and may disable checkout when Stripe reports incomplete or restricted status.
Approved catalog
Only lawful ordinary goods, food, clothing, services, and digital items specifically approved for the project may be listed. Tobacco, nicotine, vape, cannabis, controlled substances, weapons, gambling, adult services, counterfeit goods, unlawful products, and provider-prohibited activity are not supported. Misclassifying a product is a material breach.
Policies and checkout
Before launch, the merchant must provide and approve an accurate customer-service contact, privacy policy, shipping or fulfillment policy, return and refund policy, recurring terms when applicable, and any required product or professional disclosures. Made by Auren publishes those links but does not decide the merchant’s legal policy. The merchant must notify Made by Auren before a material policy change.
Shipping, taxes, and fulfillment
The merchant must configure correct destinations, rates, package details, pickup terms, inventory, taxes, seller permits, and fulfillment estimates. Carrier estimates are not guarantees. The merchant is responsible for loss, damage, delays, restricted shipments, labels, tracking, and customer communication unless a separate written managed-fulfillment agreement says otherwise.
Refunds, disputes, and negative balances
The merchant must handle refund requests under its published policy and applicable law. Refunds, disputes, chargebacks, fees, reserves, and negative balances are the merchant’s responsibility. Made by Auren may preserve records, restrict catalog or checkout access, and cooperate with Stripe or authorities when a transaction is disputed or appears unlawful.
Memberships and recurring sales
Before offering recurring access, the merchant must clearly display the amount, interval, material terms, cancellation method, and renewal timing; obtain affirmative consent; deliver a retainable acknowledgment; maintain required consent evidence; and provide legally required reminders and price-change notices. Self-service cancellation must remain functional.
Data and security
The merchant may use transaction and member data only for lawful fulfillment, service, support, accounting, fraud prevention, and consented communication. It must protect exports and account access, promptly remove former staff, report suspected compromise, and not request complete card data through general forms.
Suspension and offboarding
Made by Auren may block or suspend commerce for incomplete onboarding, missing policies, unsafe products, provider restrictions, fraud risk, security incidents, excessive disputes, nonpayment, or a material breach. On termination, the merchant remains responsible for open orders, refunds, disputes, taxes, customer access, and legally required records. Stripe controls connected-account closure and remaining payouts.
Beta boundary
Connected commerce and memberships remain unavailable for public customer launch until Made by Auren records a successful real-merchant test covering onboarding, charge, refund, dispute handling, cancellation, payout, policy links, shipping or service fulfillment, webhooks, and offboarding.
Support
Merchant questions and suspected payment incidents should be sent through the dashboard or to support@madebyauren.com without including complete card numbers or credentials.
